OUR APPROACH
process
1 / Get In Contact
If you are a new client wishing to book an appointment with me, please fill in the online form here and I will get in contact with you. Alternatively, you can also contact me via phone call or SMS, and I will get in contact with you.
2 / brief phone call
After I have gotten in contact with you, we will organise a time to have a brief 15-minute phone call to discuss what you would like to work on, and to answer any questions you may have – this will also give us an opportunity to discuss how the treatment process is like, and ease some nerves about having a first session.
3 / booking in a session
You can book in a session with me directly. I offer both face-to-face, and Telehealth sessions.
4 / mental health care plan (OPTIONAL)
If you are eligible for a mental health care plan (MHCP), you can organise this with your GP prior to the first session. The Medicare rebate is $88.25 per session. However, you do not need to a MHCP to see me. Please refer to ‘Rebates’ section below for more information about Medicare requirements and accessing rebates.
important information
-
Fees:
The fee for a standard consultation is $200 (minus $88.25 for the Medicare rebate) per 50 minute session, which remains below the recommended Australian Psychological Society guidelines. To see the Australian Psychological Society’s (APS) recommended schedule of fees, click here.
Cancellation Policy:
In line with guidelines provided by the Australian Psychological Society, 48 hours notice of non-attendance is required. This is essential so that clients on a waiting list can be offered your appointment slot.
100% of the full fee will be charged when less than 48 hours notice of non-attendance is provided.
We require 48 hours notice to reschedule or cancel a session without incurring any extra fees.
Cancellation fees may be waived in special circumstances. Please discuss with me at the time of cancelling your appointment.
-
You do not need a GP referral or MHCP to see me.
If you do wish to claim Medicare rebates, you are required to provide a valid referral from your GP prior to your first session. The date on your referral must be current.
Currently, the number of consultations you may be eligible for through Medicare is 10 individual sessions per calendar year.
-
Most private health funds provide rebates, and you are not required to obtain a referral.
If you have a private health insurance policy with ancillary covers, you may be eligible for a rebate for some of your consultations. The benefits payable to members varies between health funds and according to the level of ancillary or extras. It is recommended to contact your health fund directly and check your eligibility.
-
A GP referral is not required if you wish to pay privately.
-
Fees are payable at the time of your appointment, and are made through the Power Diary Booking App (automatic online payment system). Please note, cash is not accepted as a payment method.
You will receive a receipt to claim your rebates.
